Requesting a Score Verification

 

Multiple-choice questions are scored by computer using a process that is error free. The score verification service for multiple-choice questions is not available.

All written, oral, and video-recorded constructed responses are scored according to standardized procedures. Scorers with relevant professional backgrounds are oriented to these procedures and are carefully monitored during scoring sessions. As part of the scoring process, responses are scored by multiple scorers. However, if you wish to have your constructed responses reevaluated, you may request a score verification. NOTE: The score verification service is not available if you have passed the test or subtest.

A request for score verification must be made in writing and must include your name, your customer number (found in your account on this website), the last five digits of your Social Security number, the test date, and the test(s)/subtest(s)/section(s) for which you want your score verified. The score verification fee is $50 per test/subtest/section. Payment for score verification must be made by cashier's check or money order only. Your written request and the correct payment must be postmarked within three months (i.e., 90 calendar days) of the test date and mailed to Evaluation Systems at the following address:

  •    CBEST & CSET: For CBEST and CSET: Multiple Subjects, Writing Skills, English, Mathematics, Science, and Social Science, the verification process will take place no later than during the scoring process for the next administration of the test following the receipt of your request. You will be mailed the results of the score verification no later than the test results release date of the next administration of the test following the receipt of your request.

  •     The score verification process for the CTEL, RICA, and any CSET subtest not mentioned above will take place within 60 calendar days of the receipt of the request. You will be mailed the results of the score verification.

  • CPACE: The score verification process for the CPACE will take place within four weeks of the receipt of your request. You will be mailed the results of the score verification.

In the event that the score verification process results in a score alteration, you will be issued a corrected test result, the score verification fee will be refunded, and your records will be updated. If the original result is confirmed, you will be sent a letter indicating that the result has been confirmed. In this case, your score verification fee will not be refunded.

Submission materials are scored according to standardized procedures. Assessors with relevant professional backgrounds are oriented to these procedures and are carefully monitored during scoring. However, if you wish to have your submission materials reevaluated, you may request a score verification. NOTE: The score verification service is not available if you have passed the cycle.

A request for score verification must be made in writing and must include your name, your customer number (found in your account on this website), the last five digits of your Social Security number, the submission date, and the cycle(s) for which you want your score verified. Payment for score verification must be made by cashier's check or money order only.

  • CalAPA Cycle 1: $80
  • CalAPA Cycle 2: $100
  • CalAPA Cycle 3: $100

CalTPA Score Verification Fees, per Cycle

  • CalTPA Cycle 1: $100
  • CalTPA Cycle 2: $100
