Notes

An on-screen scientific calculator is provided to examinees for CSET Science. Read more links to a PDF.

A periodic table is provided to examinees taking Subtest I (215) and Subtest II Chemistry (218). A copy of the periodic table is available in the Sample Questions for each of these subtests.

A reference sheet containing constants, trigonometric functions, formulas, and notes is provided to examinees taking Subtest II Physics (220). A copy of these reference materials is available in the Sample Questions for this subtest.

Subtests I and II include one or more assignments that allow you to handwrite and scan responses. See scanning instructions links to a PDF and the hand-draw tutorial video opens in a new window for information on how to use a response sheet for handwritten responses. Tests may include questions that are evaluated for future administrations and do not affect a candidate's score.

Taking Multiple Subtests in a Single Test Session

If you register to take all subtests in a single session, you will be presented with one subtest at a time. Subtests are individually timed and are administered in consecutive order beginning with Subtest 1. After you complete a subtest, you will not be able to return to a subtest.

Score Delay

The Commission on Teacher Credentialing is scheduled to set the passing standards for CSET: Science at its October 26–27, 2017 meeting. If the passing standards are set at that meeting, test results will be released within three weeks of the meeting.
