RICA Written Examination Practice Test

Introduction

The RICA Written Examination practice test provides a sample test form consisting of test directions, 60 multiple-choice questions, and five constructed-response (i.e., open-ended) assignments, including four focused educational problems and instructional tasks and one case study.

An answer key is included for the multiple-choice questions that lists both the correct answer and the competency the question assesses. Sample responses to the assignments and evaluations of the sample responses are included for the constructed-response assignments.

The practice test is designed to provide an additional resource to help you effectively prepare for the RICA Written Examination. The primary purpose of the practice test is to help you become familiar with the structure and content of the test. It is also intended to help you identify areas in which to focus your studies. However, an actual RICA Written Examination test includes 70 multiple-choice questions.

Taking the Practice Test

In order to maximize the benefits of the practice test, it is recommended that you take this test under conditions similar to the conditions under which the actual RICA Written Examination is administered. Try to take the practice test in a quiet atmosphere with few interruptions and limit your testing time to 3 hours and 45 minutes, the actual testing time allowed at the test administration. You will find your results to be more useful if you refer to the answer key only after you have completed the practice test.
